This
scenic tour passes the spectacular west coast and historic Holetown, landing site of the first settlers to
the island in 1627, Speightstown, once a bustling seaport,
featuring many of the quaint buildings which have now been
refurbished, onward to Cherry Tree Hill where a brief stop
is made to enjoy the spectacular views, and then along the rugged and enchanting East Coast Road, Bathsheba before our first stop at St. Johns Church where you can wander around this historic church and churchyard,
affording another wonderful view of the eastern coastline. Dont forget to look for the tomb of Ferdinando Paleologus,
the last descendant of the Christian Emperor of Constantinople.
Arriving
at the Foursquare Rum Distillery, you will be welcomed with a complimentary
rum drink and then taken on a tour of one of the most advanced rum distilleries in the world,
which is set amongst the ruins of an old sugar mill. Sample the award winning local rum and 'get in the spirit' as you learn how it was created!
We then continue past Grantley Adams International Airport and here you can catch a glimpse of where the famous Concorde is kept, onto the popular fishing village of Oistins and past many stunning beaches along the South Coast towards our charming capital city of Barbados, recently declared a World Heritage Site! |
